APPLICATION: HBLF-EY Equitable Workplace Recognition

We are pleased to announce that this year we will once again open the application for our Equitable Workplace Recognition, which is joint initiative by HBLF and EY. Building on the successes of last year, we will apply a results- and fact-based approach and encourage companies to showcase the actual impact of their initiatives aimed at equal opportunities. Our goal with this call is to draw attention to the importance of equity and inclusion in the workplace, as well as to motivate companies for continuous improvement. The application serves as a measurement for self-examination, and an independent external expert evaluation helps in reassessing measures and strategies.

During the application process, objective indicators will play a significant role, based on which we will evaluate practices that support an equitable culture and their impact. Applicants will be assessed in three categories (outstanding, good, and needing improvement), making the recognition an excellent benchmark for reassessing continuous maintenance and development, especially in cases of repeated participation.

The application period starts on February 10 and lasts until April 11.

Responses must be submitted online. The completion of the application takes more time, and several functions may be involved in the colletion of data. To facilitate preparation, the questions of the application will be available in a separate (offline) document, which we will share with companies indicating their intention to participate.  APPLY

We encourage all companies that believe in equity, a human-centered corporate management strategy, and a diverse organizational culture as business and human advantages, to fill out the application. The goal of the two organizing entities, in addition to recognition, is to support continuous development through objective external expert feedback. After the application period closes, we will provide upon request brief feedback on our observations regarding the results and make recommendations on areas that may deserve greater emphasis.

We will announce the results of the application during the Day of Equal Opportunities event held on May 22. Additionally, there will be an opportunity for informal sharing of experiences and knowledge. Companies that receive the recognition will be notified in writing prior to the event.

Starting from 2025, we will announce the Equitable Workplace Recognition application every two years, providing participants with the opportunity to further develop their processes with targeted tools and achieve increasingly better results in this area.

--------------------------------------------------

1. Who can apply for the Equitable Workplace Recognition?
Any local or global company that has a location/operation in Hungary can apply.

2. How is the evaluation conducted?
Our evaluation criteria are based on objectivity: we take into account the presence and results of certain metrics (such as the ratio of women and men, minority groups, employees with disabilities, entry-level and senior employees in the organization, pay disparities, etc.). In addition to measurable aspects, responses to further questions (such as DEI in corporate strategy, DEI training, various DEI initiatives, other employee support programs, etc.) will also be evaluated.

3. Why is it worth applying?
The application process provides an opportunity for applicants to reflect on which related initiatives would be worth further developing, strengthening, or launching within their own organization in the area of equal opportunities, and how to measure and share the results both internally and with external parties.

The processing of various topics is carried out in accordance with European Union directives that affect companies, as well as compliance with ESG and other criteria (such as pay disparities, the ratio of women in leadership, etc.). This process contributes to brand building, the preparation of strategic decisions, and the strengthening and initiation of practical initiatives.

Furthermore, we believe it is valuable to provide feedback to all applicants regarding their current results, as well as to formulate some recommendations on areas that may deserve further emphasis.

The list of award recipients will be communicated by HBLF and EY through various channels, and we will organize related events to ensure visibility for the organizations.

We wish you a successful application!

Best Regards,
The EY and HBLF Teations
