HBLF AWARDS FOR DIVERSITY 2023

APPLICATION DEADLINE: 27 OCTOBER, 2023

The HBLF EU Diversity Charter Hungary established in 2016. Our purpose is to further strengthen the commitment of companies to diversity principles. On this occasion, HBLF announces the „HBLF Awards for Diversity” for the sixth time in Hungary, which will be presented at the 2023 HBLF year-end and Charter Signing Ceremony.

Why should I apply?

Winners will have the opportunity to be featured in the EU Diversity Charter’s newsletter, website, social media platforms and press release. The winners will have the opportunity to present their initiatives and achievements at the award ceremony. We will provide free admission to certain HBLF events for the year 2024.
The application is free of charge.

Category for organisations:

HBLF - DIVERSE ORGANISATION OF THE YEAR

A general or focused diversity-related corporate activity that has promoted diversity and inclusion for the year 2023 or a long-term activity with measurable results in 2023.

Who can apply? Sub-categories:

  1. Small and medium-sized enterprises (total number of employees less than 250, annual net sales of HUF 50 billion (2022) or less), non-profit organisations, educational institutions, NGO, entrepreneurs
  2. Large enterprise (total number of employees over 250, annual net turnover HUF 50+ billion in 2022)

Requirements:
The applicant has to describe:

  • the diversity challenge they want to address (business care)
  • the way they have developed diversity and inclusivity (implementation)
  • how they measure their effectiveness and impact (metrics, impact measurement).

We pay particular attention to the following criteria when evaluating the applications:

  • Effective and creative representation of the values of the Diversity Charter
  • Efectiveness: i.g. the range and number of participants (employees, partners) involved in corporate initiative, beneficiaries, efectiveness, generate change
  • Adaptability: whether other organisations, leaders can be inspired by good practices, examples, cases

 

HBLF – MEDIA FOR DIVERSITY

The award is intended to recognise an organisation that uses its external communication or media platform to promote and advance diversity, inclusion and equal opportunities, thus contributing to the sustainable social development of Hungary.

Who can apply? Sub-categories:

  1. Small and medium-sized enterprises (total number of employees less than 250, annual net sales of HUF 50 billion (2022) or less), non-profit organisations, educational institutions, NGO, entrepreneurs
  2. Large enterprise (total number of employees over 250, annual net turnover HUF 50+ billion in 2022)

Requirements:
The applicant has to describe:

  • the diversity challenge to which the communication is intended to draw attention
  • the issues and beneficiaries that the communication is intended to help
  • communication platform
  • effectiveness and impact of the communication
  • metrics, impact measurements
    Intranet projects are not eligible for the award.

We pay particular attention to the following criteria when evaluating the applications:

  • Effective and creative representation of the values of the Diversity Charter
  • Efectiveness: i.g. reach, efectiveness, impact, beneficiaries

 

Award for individuals

HBLF – DIVERSITY CHAMPION OF THE YEAR

Recognition of an individual who, in addition to their job duties and responsibilities, has made an additional contribution to society by taking an active role in advancing diversity, inclusion or specific sub-themes of diversity in 2023.

Requirements:
The applicants must describe:

  • the challenge to which they respond
  • the issues and social group they wish to help (cause)
  • their personal involvement (implementation), and how they will measure their effectiveness and impact

We pay particular attention to the following criteria when evaluating the applications:

  • Effective and creative representation of the values of the Diversity Charte
  • Efectiveness: the range and number of participants (employees, partners) involved in initiative, beneficiaries, generate change
  • Credibility, consistence
  • Volunteering

Conflict of interests:

  1. any person who is involved in the application procedure as a contributor or decision-maker
  2. a close relative of a person referred to in point (a)
  3. a company owned by a person referred to in point (a)
  4. a business company, foundation, social organization, church or trade union in which the person referred to in point (a) is a senior director, member of the governing body or organization of the foundation, an officer or member of the administrative or representative body of the social organization, an employee or a contractual partner.
  5. the organisation establishing and presenting the award (hereinafter HBLF)
  6. who is an executive officer or a member of the board of the organisation referred to in point (e) in the year of the call for applications

Evaluation of applications:

The jury will evaluate the formally compliant and substantively suitable applications by comparing the program assigned to the activities of the organization and by ranking the received applications.
The jury will select 2 winners in the category "Diverse Organisation of the Year" based on the size and turnover of the company (SME, large company, NGO).
The jury may announce 2 winners in the category "Media for Diversity" based on the size and turnover of the company (SME, large company, NGO).
In the category of "Diversity Champion of the Year", the jury may select 1 winner for the individual prize.
The jury may announce and award a total of 5 prizes at the HBLF year-end and award ceremony. If there are not enough entries in a category, the jury may decide not to announce a winner in that category. The jury may decide to award a special prize to a particular entry or entries.
Winning applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application by e-mail.

Award ceremony:

The HBLF Awards for Diversity will be presented during HBLF’s end-of-the-year event on 29 November, 2023. The Awards will be presented by the President of the Jury and the President of HBLF.
