HBLF X Mentor Executive Program Held Its First Exclusive Workshop for Board Candidates

The issue of gender equality became even more important in the light of the new European Union directive, according to which the underrepresented gender must reach a minimum of 33% in the executive board in listed companies. In 2023, therefore, the Hungarian Business Leaders Forum (HBLF) launched the HBLF Xmentor Executive program for newly appointed board members and partners or candidates. In addition to a year-long mentoring, HBLF provides 4 premium workshops.

The first event was the Fireside Chat that took place in September in Budapest: the mentees could learn from prominent Hungarian business leaders who shared the experiences they gained as board members and leading decision-makers and offered an inside look into their career path, milestones, and challenges. It was also crucial to understand their journey that led to their current positions. Our guests shared stories about their childhood ambitions, the impact of high school and higher education, and how they got started in their respective fields. Presenting a metaphorical map of their professional lives, they talked about their defining milestones: the reconciliation of ambitions and private life, their difficulties, dilemmas, and resolutions along the way.

HBLF is committed to present female and male role models who were able to realize their career aspirations while creating and maintaining a healthy work-life balance, and who were not afraid to learn from their mistakes and failures.
