Domonkos Medgyesy

Introduction

I am Domonkos Medgyesy, I have more than 30 years of experience in the energy industry. I received my bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Bánki Donát Technical College in 1994, followed by a master's degree in thermal energy engineering from the Budapest University of Technology and Economics in 2001. 

I spent the first 25 years of my professional career in the competitive sector and since 2019 I have been working for the MVM Group. I am currently CEO of MVM ERBE Zrt. and MVM ERBE Engineering Zrt. During my career, I have been involved in national and international power plant investments, leading energy projects as project manager and technical director. I have also gained experience in managing small and large professional teams, corporate reorganisations, new company start-ups, and the design and implementation of organisational development processes.

Why would you like to participate in the HBLF International X Mentor Program?

I consider the sharing of experiences and the transfer of knowledge that goes with it to be of paramount importance, as it fosters the professional development of the younger generation. I am convinced that, in today’s rapidly changing world, intergenerational dialogue and support are of particular significance. The enthusiasm, fresh perspective and innovative skills of young people are a source of inspiration to me too, so mentoring is not just about giving, but also a process of mutual learning. The HBLF programme provides an excellent opportunity for this mutual development and value creation.

Have you ever had a mentor, or have you ever mentored someone? What did that mean to you?

Yes, I’ve had a mentor and I’ve also mentored others. In every case, it meant thinking things through together and having uplifting and inspiring encounters.
