Introduction

I regard the launch of the dual training programme, the introduction of digital financial processes, the development of an information security framework and the strengthening of corporate governance as my personal ambitions.

Why would you like to participate in the HBLF International X Mentor Program?

I have been working for the Company for three decades. No two years have been the same during this time; every year has brought new challenges and tasks. My career progression in what is generally considered a male-dominated profession, within a Japanese corporate culture, has taught me a great deal. I am delighted to pass on my experience; this is what motivates me in the mentoring programme.

Have you ever had a mentor, or have you ever mentored someone? What did that mean to you?

Within the company, I have mentored and continue to mentor senior colleagues. I can see their development as leaders, as well as the power of their awareness and influence within the company, which fills me with joy and pride.

I myself was mentored not long ago; my mentor was a senior executive at a major international company who sets a good example through significant social engagement and builds credibility. At this stage of my own leadership journey, this experience has helped me to be well-prepared, as a mentor, to support other leaders.

I believe that authentic leadership is based on continuous learning, personal accountability and trust in people. I strive to create value by leading by example, sharing knowledge and thinking long-term. I want to leave behind a leadership legacy that goes beyond business results: colleagues who are developing, a strong community, and relationships built on trust.
