Introduction

I am a senior executive and investment professional with 35+ years of international development experience globally at the International Finance Corporation, the private sector arm of the World Bank Group. At IFC I held senior leadership and technical positions at IFC.
I am currently an independent Investment Committee member at ILX Fund and at SEACEF II Fund.
I am also an Adjunct Professor at American University in Washington DC where I teach experiential learning classes in the Sustainability Masters program at the Kogod Business School.
Finally, I have been a mentor to women my entire career and did both coaching and facilitation programs at IFC.

I have had four mentees at HBLF over the past four years and at American University where I have been doing career mentoring for students for two years and over the years at IFC where I served on several mentoring programs.

Why would you like to join the HBLF International X Mentor Programme?

I am deeply motivated by career mentoring programs and it has been a pleasure working with four young HBLF mentees over the past four years.
I am also currently a mentor to two students at the American University School of International Service.
From time to time, I conduct workshops and other programs focused on specific skills for students at the University.

It has been a pleasure and an honor to be able to "pay it forward" to young women business leaders and those aspiring to become future leaders.

Have you had a mentor or have you mentor before? What has it given to you?

Yes I have had mentors all my professional life - in many cases I have sought them out. My learnings from them have helped me in my career tremendously. I have particularly benefited from real life experiences that they have shared with me that have helped me to address specific situations I am facing at work. They have been an invaluable resource to me.
I very much look forward to my fifth year with HBLF!

My philosophy in mentoring is to listen carefully and with empathy, to encourage approaching situations with confidence and determination, and to share my experiences sincerely and with intent.
