Diversity & Inclusion at the Workplace: Living Library - Citi Hungary HQ
Dear Charta Member! Dear HBLF Member! Dear Partners!
Place of the event: Citi Hungary HQ, Váci út 80.
“A” Torony, 5. Board room Date: 9:00 – 11:00, September 5, 2019 Topic: Diversity & Inclusion at the Workplace: Living Library – one of the tools that helps to build a diverse, open and inclusive corporate culture A Living Library is a tool that seeks to challenge prejudice and discrimination. It works just like a normal library: visitors can browse the catalogue for the available titles, choose the book they want to read, and borrow it for a limited period of time. After reading, they return the book to the library and, if they want, borrow another. The only difference is that in the Living Library, books are people, and reading consists of a conversation. Citi Living Library works just like a normal library, the only difference is that books are people - in this case Citi employees - and reading consist 10-15 minutes of 1 to 1 conversations. Every book is there to tell their own personal story for the readers selecting them. This short time allows both parties to learn more about each other. The topic provided by the book is given, it depends on the reader how deep they want to go down in the rabbit hole discovering and hopefully fighting their own unconscious bias and stereotypes. The readers are also allowed to ask questions they might have never had the chance to address before, the only rule is to keep everything said between them. Selection of books and stories offered by Citi Women's Network Budapest, Citi disABILITY Network Hungary, Citi Generations Network Hungary, Citi Green Team Budapest, Citi Volunteering Network Budapest and Citi Pride Network Budapest. "Never be afraid to connect and ask. If you ask, it shows you are interested, you’re curious, you’re sensitive enough to care. There is no right or wrong way to ask me about my story. So, please, ask." Please fill in the registration by August 26, 2019, at the latest! RSVP: zita.pergel@hblf.hu
There is no participation fee for HBLF and Charta members
